Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for services to adapt a surplus propeller hub to accept one full scale alternate material propeller blade. The services to be provided, as detailed in the Statement of Work, consist of the following: 1)Shortening the length of the hub2)Numerically controlled machining of the dove-tail slot3)Construction of an end plate Attachment J.2 to the RFQ is an IGES formatted file containing a definition of the hub geometry and can be provided upon request. However, the Statement of Work alone is detailed enough to allow all responsible sources the opportunity to bid. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation and is supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number issued as a request for quotation (RFQ) is N00167-09-T-0184 and is attached to this announcement. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and proposals are being requested. This RFQ is a one hundred percent (100%) Small Business Set-Aside. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 332710 and the Small Business size standard is 500 employees. All offerors shall be within one hundred (100) miles of the Washington Metropolitan Area. All responsible sources may submit a quote that will be considered by the agency. Provisions and clauses, in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-35 as well as DCN 20090715, are included in the attached solicitation. The Government will arrange for shipping of the surplus propeller hub. Requirements and evaluation procedures are listed in the attached solicitation. A Firm-Fixed Price purchase order will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures and selection for award will be based on the lowest price that meets the specified requirements. To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Registration may be done by accessing the CCR website at http://www.ccr.gov. Quotes that are non-compliant with any material requirement of this solicitation may be rejected without further consideration for award. All responses must be received by 13 August 2009 - 3:00PM-ET, and must reference RFQ number N00167-09-T-0184. If a change occurs in this requirement, only those offerors that respond to this announcement within the required time frame will be provided any changes/amendments and considered for future discussions and/or award.
