- In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Acquisition Management System (FAA AMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the FAA's intent to contract with a selected firm using single source procedures. The FAA has a requirement to purchase an A-320 cockpit shell modified to accept non-standard aircraft displays and a full A-320 cockpit in a standard configuration. Flight Deck Solutions, Ontario, Canada was selected for this procurement because they utilize unique and proprietary interface protocols in their simulator design. Use of another vendor's simulator equipment would result in a major redesign of the Cockpit Simulator Facility laboratory. A competitive solicitation will not be available for this procurement.
