Description: NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Pittsburgh, PA/ National Personal Protective Technology (NPPTL), hereby announces its intent to issue a purchase order to CDS Analytical, Inc. for: 1 93045024 ACEM Thermal Desorption System, Model 9300, 1 00001 Dynatherm Thermal Desorption Autosampler & sampler saver option, 1 93025039 ACEM 9300 Checkout Kit for Volatile Compounds, 18 MX062131 6mm Sorbent Tubes, 1 9301-50555 9303-5058 1620-0455 9301-2018 9301-2019 Vocarb Focus Trap/Heater Kit, 5 40D45008 Dynamic Headspace Styation for TDA 2 TC011000 TC4011010 TO071600 Single Tube Conditioner, Model 10 with installation, training and shipping. The purpose of this procurement is to purchase laboratory equipment for the new protective clothing laboratory that will primarily focus on pandemic influenza research. The main objective is to add additional equipment to the lab as part of the Healthcare Worker PPE (Pan Flu Research) Project to conduct testing and research on protective clothing, ensembles, and equipment that are intended to prevent or contain the spread of a pandemic flu or similar public health emergence. The specific objective of this contract is to obtain test equipment including a Thermal Desorption System and Autosampler from CDS Analytical to evaluate and characterize materials that would be suitable for pandemic response. This project is supported by justification for other than full and open competition to CDS Analytical, Inc., under authority of 41 U.S.C.253(c) (1). Responsible sources that believe they possess the expertise and capabilities identified and can supply all of the designated equipment above are encouraged to submit to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the posting date of this notice, their written item description/item characteristics and pricing information in the format they choose, not to exceed 10 pages. Please forward the item description and pricing information to James Ambrozic, Purchasing Agent, Reference: 00HCCMBE-2009-70503, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Acquisition and Assistance Field Branch (Pittsburgh), PO Box 18070, Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh. All vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) prior to an award of a federal contract. The website is: www.ccr.gov. The Government will review any/all item descriptions and pricing information submitted and determine if other qualified sources do exist that could provide this requirement. Information received in response will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), negotiations will be conducted with CDS Analytical, Inc., 465 Limestone Road, Oxford, PA 19363-0277 as the only source and a purchase order will be issued without any additional notices being posted.
