- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a Thermal Demagnetizer (High-Capacity - 48samples)with following specifications:three zone oven design to minimize temperaturegradients within the oven over a temperature range of 0 to 800 C, multilayer mu-metalshield design to provide a low field environment less than 10 nT, full length field coilfor heating in controlled fields and a controlled atmosphere chamber that allows heatingand cooling in either a vacuum or inert gas flow; Controlled Field Coil, Power Supply,Controlled Atmosphere Chamber.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from ASC Scientific pursuant FAR 13.106, for theacquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably available from only onesource.Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 2:30PM EST on datelisted above. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".
