- B y way of this Announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its STORM WATER CONTROL PROJECT LOCATED IN GARY, IN. The Contractor will be required to install approximately 1500 linear feet of 30" storm sewer, storm inlets and catch basins. Full reconstruction of 25th Avenue between Sherman Street and Fairbanks Street and full reconstruction of Fairbanks Street between 25th Avenue to I-80/94. The flow from this area will be drained south to an existing 36" culvert at Fairbanks Street and I-80/94. This culvert drains south of I-94 to a drainage ditch at 29th Avenue. This construction will reduce anticipated flooding conditions in the area. The estimated magnitude of cost for construction is between $1 Million and $5 Million. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990, with a business size in dollars of $33.5 Million. COMPETITION IS RESTRICTED TO SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. Interested Bidders can download the Invitation for Bids Package from the Internet Site https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will be available on the Internet on or before 17 August 2009. The due date for bids will be on or about 17 September 2009, at 2:00 PM Chicago Local Time. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov. Request for solicitation packages made by telephone, fax or e-mail will not be honored.
