- Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Procurement to EG Solutions There is no solicitation. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in Portland, Oregon intends to award a sole source fixed-price purchase order under authority of Federal Acquistiion Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This acquisition is required to support the Columbia River Fisheries Program Office in Vancouver, Washington. EG Solution is the only licensed manufacturer of fish traps using the rotary screw design (U.S. patent 4,929,350). Due to th epatent design EG Solutions is the only known legal source to acquire replacement items such as those requested by the purchaser. No action has been taken to locate other capable sources due to the patent design held by EG Solutions.
