- DESCRIPTION: The NF/SG Veterans Healthcare System, Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center, 1601 SW Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608, intent to sole source with TELE-ACOUSTICS INC, for the Acoustics Systems Sound Room, Double Wall Test Booths. This sole source basis pursuant to VAAR 873 & 38 USC 8153 and FAR 6.302-1 for the Acoustics Systems Sound Room; the sound booth provides attenuation of ambient noise level (from 44 dB SPL @ 125 Hz to 100 dB SPL @ 4000 Hz), thereby allowing a quiet environment to conduct perceptual experiments and to make noise-free acoustic recordings of speech. This is essential for the proposed research project since we need to obtain good quality speech recordings and obtain perceptual data to generate models for speech intelligibility. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 541990. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature to the Contracting Officer no later than Aug 13, 2009 at 4:00pm EST. Responses should be sent to shirley.courtney@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
