- Fed Biz Ops Announcement for BFI 2009 No. 4, July 20, 2009 BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY 2009 The Professional Aerospace Contractors Association (PACA) of New Mexico, with the co-sponsorship of Air Force Research Laboratory, will host the twenty third annual BRIEFING FOR INDUSTRY (BFI) on August 18 and 19, 2009 at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During this comprehensive event, the participating military and government agencies will describe their missions, share their program objectives and plans, and identify contracting opportunities to the audience of current and prospective contractors. Presentation topics will include: research and development; test and evaluation; technical and analytical support; operations and maintenance; systems procurement; facilities construction; and more - including an update on Spaceport America. The Honorable Martin Heinrich, U.S. Representative from the 1st New Mexico District, will deliver the luncheon keynote address on Tuesday, August 18 and the Honorable Fred Mondragon, New Mexico Cabinet Secretary for Economic Development, will present the Welcome Address. In addition, Major General Curtis M. Bedke, Commander, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio has been invited to provide the kickoff briefing to set the stage for the conference. Colonel Michael S. Duval, Commander, 377th Air Base Wing, Kirtland Air Force Base will deliver the Welcome Address on Wednesday, August 19. Our luncheon speaker for Wednesday will be Lieutenant General Leo Marquez, USAF retired. See BFI Web site - http://bfi.pacanm.org. Organizations scheduled to participate include: Air Force Research Laboratory (all directorates); Space and Missile Systems Center/Space Development and Test Wing; Operationally Responsive Space Office; Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center; 46th Test Group; Kirtland Small Business Office; Sandia National Laboratories; Los Alamos National Laboratory; Department of Energy; White Sands Missile Range; White Sands Test Facility; High Energy Laser Joint Technology Office; National Reconnaissance Office; Office of Scientific Research, Small Business Innovation Research; Nuclear Weapons Center; Air Force Office of Test & Evaluation Center; 58th Special Operations Wing; Distributed Mission Operations Center; and Department of Energy. The early registration deadline (July 31) is fast approaching and provides a $25 fee discount. Also, attendees joining PACA at the time of registration are eligible for the PACA rate.
