- The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards AFB intends to award a sole source, Firm-Fixed Price Contract, under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items & (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, to Herley Industries, Inc., DBA, Herley-Lancaster; 3061 Industry Drive; Lancaster PA 17603-4025. This acquisition is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 334511. Requirement: C-Band Radar Transponder - Model # MD400-C-1 - Part # 500002-27, 17 Ea., Salient Characteristics: 400 Watt typical peak power output; Long life magnetron transmitter; Sensitive super heterodyne receiver; Small, less than 43 cubic inches (705 cubic cms); Lightweight, less than 43 ounces (1220 grams); Tunable over 5.4 to 5.9 GHz; Adjustable internal delay; Reverse polarity power lead protection; Single and double pulse interrogations; Adjustable code spacing and Built-in duplexer for single antenna operation reflections. Contractors interested in this requirement should submit a complete technical package, which provides clear and convincing evidence that they can meet the Government's requirement. Anticipated Award date is 28 Aug 2009. Responses must be received no later than (NLT) 2:00 p.m., Pacific Standard Time, 14 Aug 2009.
