Description
This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought notice only. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (service disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, woman-owned, small business, or large business) relative to NACIS 334516 (size standard of 500 employees). Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and are not considered adequate responses to a potential future solicitation announcement. The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System is seeking sources to provide one DNA Extractor that provides fully automated sample processing, automated centrifugation, and hands-free sample analyses'. The extractor should have the capacity to process up to 12 specimens at a time. The extractor should have the capability to process a wide variety of specimen types to include: peripheral blood, bone marrow, body fluids, and tissue. The system should permit for protocols that allow for the purification of genomic DNA, plasmid DNA, viral nucleic acids, and proteins. Since the laboratory has space limitations a system should have dimensions no larger than the following: Width 70cm, Depth 65cm, Height 90cm. It is also desired that there be no external computer required because of space availability. Responses to this request should include a capability statement, and three (3) customer references to which you have provided similar services for. Responses should also include company name, address, point of contact and answers to the following questions: (1) Is this product or service available under a federal supply schedule (GSA)? If yes, please provide the contract number. (2) Do you manufacture or directly provide these services? 3) Is your business large or small? If your business is small please indicate if your business is also certified in a subcategory for small business i.e. service disabled, veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, hub zone, 8(a), small disadvantage business, or woman-owned. Responses to this notice shall be emailed to Thomas Yerkey at Thomas.yerkey@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 4:30PM on August 14th, 2009. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available, if a solicitation is issued it will be announced at a later date.
