- Description: The U.S. Army Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition Systems, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ and Rock Island Contracting Center are currently seeking sources for a contractor for the manufacture and delivery of AA49 9mm Ball (M882) Commercial Pack and A363 9mm Ball Combat Pack. The M882 Cartridges are used in the 9mm M9 Beretta Pistol and the 9mm High Power, Browning (Belgium). The A363 configuration (combat pack) is a 9mm Ball (M882) packed 50 cartridges in a cardboard carton with 20 cartons packed in a M2A1 metal ammunition box. M2A1 cans shall be furnished as Government Furnished Material (GFM) for the combat pack, A363 configuration only. Two M2A1s are then packed into a wire-bound box. This GFM will not be provided for orders requiring commercial packaging applications. The configuration of the AA49 (commercial pack) is a 9mm Ball (M882) packed 50 cartridges in a cardboard carton with 10 cartons packed in a fiberboard box. All packaging requirements shall be in accordance with the specifications within the Technical Data Package (TDP) Specifications: This item is purchased to a Technical Data Package (TDP), see submission information below. Planned Acquisition: A five (5) year (FY11-FY15) Requirements Contract is contemplated for this effort. The approximate quantities for FY11 - FY15 are as follows: FY11 50M each; FY12 83M each; FY13 69M each; FY14 54M each; and FY15 53M each. Submission Information: All responsible interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data with regard to the above, no later than 3 September 2009 to: U.S. Army Contracting Command, Rock Island Contracting Center, Attn: Mr. Randall Slusser or Mr. Mitch Maes, Bldg. 60, Rock Island Arsenal, IL or at Randall.slusser@us.army.mil or mitchell.maes@us.army.mil. Please include company name, address, telephone number, and technical point of contact, brochures/literature/test data. Firms interested in supplying the 9mm M882 should adequately describe their experience in 9mm production and testing, systems contracting, demonstrated high rate production, and annual production capacity. Those interested sources not having previously manufactured the 9mm M882 should also submit a rough outline of their plans and schedule to facilitate a 9mm M882 production line to meet the approximate quantities listed above. Interested sources shall also submit any backup data to support claims that their ammunition will conform to the TDP requirements (a copy of the TDP may be requested from the Points of Contact listed above). Past experience and abilities of the supplier of the 9mm M882 shall be demonstrated. In addition, the ability and past experience related to acting as a prime contractor to procure, assemble, package and ship the necessary components shall be provided. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. Please be advised that the Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
