- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is soliciting bidders for the repairs to the Tug Manamet. The 100 ft tug Manamet will be dry docked for underwater repairs at a repair facility not to exceed 50 miles from the Cape Cod Canal Project Office. Repair work shall consist of water and sand blasting the hull, power sanding the upper hull, and the application of surface coatings, including the installation of new zincs. Other items of work include the replacement of propeller shaft packing, valve inspection and overhaul, hatch repairs, rudder and air tank testing, audio graph survey of the hull, frame, and deck, and the cleaning of water and gas tanks. The scope of work also includes other misc. yard work and an ABS certification. The NAICS code is 336611 with a Size Standard of 1000 employees. The solicitation will be issued on or about 10 August 2009. Interested bidders can download the solicitation via the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). The due date for the bid will be stated in the solicitation. Requests for solicitation documents by telephone, fax or email will not be honored. Instructions for bid submissions will be provided in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a bid for consideration by the New England District.
