- Description
- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to purchase the services of the University of Wisconsin Fundus Photos Reading Center to grade retinal (fundus) photos from 735 nondiabetic Pima Indians. The retinal photographs were taken at biennial research examinations. Retinal photographs of diabetic participants have already been interpreted by the University of Wisconsin reading center. The retinal photographs are to be graded in a standardized manner without knowledge of clinical details according to a modification of the Airlie House classification system and a modification of the Early Treatment of Diabetic Retinopathy Study severity system of diabetic retinopathy, which assigns a numeric score to each eye. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received, before the closing date of this announcement, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIHDK2009202 will be available fifteen (15) days after the release of the RFQ. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 773, Bethesda, MD 20892 Attention: V. Lynn Griffin. FAX quotations must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number. FAX quotations will be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
