- Fleet & Industrial Supply Center San Diego, CA hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source requirement to University of San Diego, Scripps Institute of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA 92093 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Scripps Institution of Oceanography built the Simple Tomographic Acoustic Receivers under contract from the Office of Naval Research to support the ocean acoustic scientific community. Alternate vendors would be cost prohibitive, as they would also require additional funding and a longer timeline to design and build the equipment, or alter existing equipment to be compatible with our mooring requirements.Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available. Interested firms shall submit information that indicates their ability to satisfy this requirement. Responses are due by TIME, DATE, via email. SOLICITATION #N00244-09-T-0553.
