Description
The U.S. Coast Guard, Acquisition Directorate, Washington, DC intends to issue a sole source Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Requirements contract to MTU Detroit Diesel Incorporated. The contract will be awarded using FAR Part 12.207 for Commercial Items in conjunction with FAR Part 16.504 for Indefinite-Quantity. The NAICS code for this requirement is 611430. The standard size is $7.0 million. The period of performance will be one (1) 12-month base period and four (4) 12-month options. The IDIQ contract will be firm fixed-price. The requirement is for scheduled training for maintenance and operations of the installed main diesel engines, main diesel engine governor, controllable pitch propellers, and main reduction gear onboard the Coast Guard WMSL class cutters (above and beyond Coast Guard capability). Award will be made in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 – Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. MTU Detroit Diesel Incorporated is the sole training authority and holds the proprietary rights to this training. Specifications are not available and a solicitation will not be issued. The Coast Guard intends to solicit only with MTU Detroit Diesel Incorporated. Interested persons may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the Agency. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government will consider all responses to include capability statements received by 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 13, 2009 (EDT). Classes will be held for the following training: RENK Reduction Gear Units, MRG, CCG; Kamewa/Ulstein Propulsion Main Propeller (CPP); General Electric Woodward Governor; MTU CE1; MTU CE2; MTU CM1; and, MTU CM3
