Description
The USDA Forest Service, Kootenai National Forest, intends to acquire by contract the replacement of Marten Creek Road culvert. The project consists of Replacing failing culverts on the Marten Creek Road The project site can be reached by travelling from Trout Creek, MT looking West on Hwy 200, turn left on Cedar Street, right on Fir Street, left on Larch Street and Right on Pine Street. Follow on this road for approximately 8 miles to Marten Creek Bay Bridge, veer left onto Rd 151 and travel approximately 7.44 miles to Beginning of Project. The Forest Service intends to issue a solicitation for this project utilizing FAR Part 14 procedures for sealed bidding. This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for HUBzone Business concerns. A single firm-fixed price type contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder (IAW FAR Part 9, Contractor Qualifications) whose offer is of the lowest price meeting the technical requirements in the solicitation. Payment Protection will be required for this project and Davis-Bacon wage rates will apply to any resulting contract. This solicitation will be available on or about 12 August 2009. The period of performance for this project will be 45 days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed which is expected to be issued on or about September 15, 2009. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on the part of the bidder will render the bidder ineligible for award. Bidders may obtain information on registration and annual confirmation requirements by calling 888-227-2423, or via the Internet at http://www.ccr.gov//.
