Description
This solicitation is funded under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act and will be subject to additional clauses associated with that Act. The National Park Service is seeking a contractor to accomplish resurfacing work for approximately 2.5 miles of tour road, two pull offs, seven parking lots with a total of 97 parking spaces. Also there are bicycle rakes that have an asphalt area and these will also need the same resurfacing as the parking lot that they are adjacent too. There are eleven areas that total approximately 270 square yards of asphalt that are failing and are in need of repair. These are to be repaired and the damaged asphalt removed and disposed off-site. The areas that are damaged by tree roots, the roots need to be removed and the area filled and compacted and is made level and smooth with the new asphalt. The road shoulder should blend in smoothly with the roadside landscape so there is no drop off. There is approximately 300 square yards that needs an asphalt overlay. The depression needs corrected to allow for positive drainage. There are several areas that have cracks that need to be filled with an approved sealant to prevent any surface water from penetrating the sub-base,all work is to be performed at the Guilford Courthouse NMP, a unit of the National Park Service located in Greensboro, North Carolina, within Guilford County. Magnitude of this project is $375,000 to $425,000. Procurement is being conducted under full and open competition procedures under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The applicable NAICS code for this project is 237310 with a size standard of $31.0 million. This notice is not the solicitation. The solicitation package will be available on or about August 13, 2009, with original bids due on September 11, 2009 (see solicitation for exact date and time bids are due). The solicitation will be issued as an Invitation for Bids electronically on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. Paper copies of the solicitation will not be made available. The Standard Form 1442 is available at the website by clicking on the "printer friendly form" link. The remainder of the solicitation (including all pertinent attachments) is available at the site by clicking on the link "clauses and attachments," which is located in the blue box near the middle of the screen. Bidders wishing to receive electronic notification of changes will need to register to receive notification of this specific solicitation at http://ideas.nbc.gov. The Notice to Proceed on the project will be issued at the discretion of the government and all work (including the striping) shall be concluded within 90 calendar days of the project start date.
