- CENTRAL TENDER NO. (129/2009) REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (REOI) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SUF TRUNK SEWER The Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) through the Government Tenders Directorate (GTD) is soliciting expressions of interest for the construction of the Suf Trunk Sewer. The purpose of this request is to identify individual US contractors who may be interested in bidding for the subject project. Prospective contractors must qualify at a minimum based on their nationality, eligibility, required resources, financial capacity, and technical experience with projects of similar scope and magnitude as described below. All potential bidders should refer to the USAID web site for nationality and eligibility rules. http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/01apr20051500/edocket.access.gpo.gov/cfr_2005/aprqtr/pdf/22cfr228.31.pdf In addition to the Pre-qualified US firms, the bid will be open also to local firms classified as first grade in the water and wastewater field according to the classification of the Jordanian Government Tenders Directorate As a result of this exercise, interested US contractors and Jordanian Class A contractors will be invited to submit their pre-qualification documents for the Suf Trunk Sewer Project. The project scope includes: 1-231 meters of concrete pipe sewers for branch connections to Suf Trunk Sewer 2-1,359 meters of 300 mm High Density Polyethylene Profile Wall Gravity Pipe 3-3,968 meters of 400 mm High Density Polyethylene Profile Wall Gravity Pipe 4-2,931 meters of 500 mm High Density Polyethylene Profile Wall Gravity Pipe 5-116 Type A manholes and 161 Type B Wadi manholes. 6-14,335 m2 rock fill mattress for sewers in Wadi area 7-Other sewer miscellaneous works including, concrete encasement, demolition and decommissioning abandoned existing manholes The project cost estimate is in the range of 3.2-3.6 million US dollars, USAID will provide funding of about 85% to partially finance the construction activities and the procurement of materials. 15 % of the cost will be provided by the Water Authority of Jordan.
