- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with Princeton Instruments for the PIXIS: 1024B Digital Charge-Coupled-Device (CCD) Camera System. The system is based on a 16-bit e2V CCD47-10 scientific grade 1, back-illuminated, deep-depletion NIMO-type system. A camera system meeting these specifications is required for a research effort to conduct near-field photometry of light retroreflected from sheeting materials used in the manufacture of traffic control signs. Princeton Instruments is the sole manufacturer of a CCD camera system meeting all of the requirements for the study, and there are no other known sources for this system. Princeton Instruments does not distribute this product through any other vendor. The proposed contract action is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one sourse under the FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The total estimated value is not to exceed $39,138. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is August 21, 2009.
