Description
NAICS Code: 541519 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Research and Development (ORD) in Washington, DC, intends to award a Purchase Order to Vertere Inventory Control Systems of Warwick, RI, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13,Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The purpose of this purchase order is to acquire software licenses and maintenance for the Vertere Inventory manager System. Specifically, the proposed project will provide 51 software licenses and maintenance for 22 EPA laboratories and facilities, nationwide. The anticipated period of performance is 10/1/09 -9/30/10. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 541519. NO SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) IS AVAILABLE. It has been determined that Vertere Inventory Control Systems is uniquely qualified to satisfy the Government's requirement as they are the sole owner of the required inventory control system and retains the rights to all its applications, including the distribution,.licensing and support. Currently, the Vertere Inventory Manager System is an integral part of 22 laboratory and facility sites that maintain and use hazardous chemicals in the completion of EPA's analytical and research mission. The chemical inventory management software has a unique design, performance, and quality specifications that are essential to EPA's particular research protocol, and analytical, and safety, health and environmental compliance needs that are not available in comparable productsThe Vertere Inventory Manager software's web-based system allows each EPA site and headquarters greater efficiency in retrieving data on the use and storage of hazardous chemicals. Additionally, it eliminates unnecessary purchases and waste disposal cost. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting EPA's requirement, as stated herein, may submit their corporate capabilities, which, if received by the response date of this announcement, may be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to Nicole Humphrey, Contracting Officer, to humphrey.nicole@epa.gov. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
