- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for equipment for the Fancourt Universal Form and TrimSystem.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Fancort Industries, Inc., pursuant to FAR13.106, for the acquisition of supplies or services determined to be reasonably availablefrom only one source. This equipment has a unique combination of requiredfeatures/specifications: This equipment is specifically designed for use with FancourtUniversal Form/Trim System to assemble flight and non-flight printed wiring wiringassemblies for various missions. It is identical in form and function to the existingunit that is currently in place, and the additional equipment will add to the versatilityto parts now being used. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon August 6, 2009. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.[OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED]An Ombudsman has been appointed.
