The IPG ELR-2-1550-SF is a single frequency, continuous wave 1550nm, 10 watt laser. It has four output fibers and a narrow 20kHz line width. Its main function will be for photonic Doppler velocimeter (PDV) operations where velocity data will be captured up to 10km/s. The very high power is necessary so that the PDV can capture enough reflected light to deduce the velocity in a multipoint configuration. Furthermore, the laser is equipped with a BNC connector for TTL modulation.
