- Contractor shall provide all services, labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary for the cleaning and repair of the John F. Kennedy Center's exterior marble cladding. Offers for 3 alternates will also be solicited-a. clean softy joint and install Emseal Colorseal; b. Stage area to access all horizontal overhang surfaces of the canopy soffit; clean & coat said soffit with breathable acrylic or cementitious exterior coating; c. Stage are to access all surfaces of the Rock Creek Parkway overhang; clean & coat said soffit with breathable acrylic or cementitious exterior coating. IFB and project plans and specifications will be available for download at this website o/a 7 August 2009. A firm, fixed-price contract will be sought under full and open competition. A special determination of responsibility will be conducted to address special qualifications which include unusual expertise, experience, and/or facilities. Specific standards will be set forth in the solicitation but will at a minimum include: direct experience on previous restoration projects on buildings of a similar size clad with marble or other natural stone cladding; successful experience with similar projects involving marble or natural stone cladding with a minimum project wall size of 10,000 square feet; successful completion of masonry restoration projects which required engineered, temporary staging for heights over 40 feet. Experience installing standard unit masonry is not sufficient experience for masonry restoration work. A preproposal site visit is anticipated. NAICS code is 236220. The small business size standard is less than or equal $33.5M annual gross receipts. The gross order of magnitude is between $1 Million and $5 Million.
