- Description
- Project # 646-09-104, "Women's Health Clinic and Mammography" at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), University Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15240. This procurement is set-aside 100% for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Work includes, but is not limited to, a Design Build Construction for the renovation of two existing rooms (approximately 1,515 S.F. and approximately 110 S.F.) and corridors on the first floor west wing of University Drive Building 1. The contract will upgrade, renovate, and reconfigure the existing room and hall to provide spaces for reception, examination, mammography, consultation rooms, nurse stations, administration area, restroom, and storage space. Include removal of all existing materials and surfaces as required to complete renovation. This project involves primarily nonrecurring maintenance such as installing, removing and/or relocating walls, including lead walls for future mammography equipment. Also includes Installation of ceiling, floors, lighting, and custom millwork and casework. Supply HVAC distribution components; MEP equipment including connections to existing building utilities; emergency power; installing and certified testing of sprinkler systems and alarms. The construction cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. The applicable NAICS is 236220 with the small business size standard of $33.5 million. Solicitation will be issued on or about (o/a) August 6, 2009 to interested parties through electronic data interchange at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov for downloading FREE OF CHARGE. Drawings are in AutoCAD 2007 format. Any amendments to this solicitation will be available at the website. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments from the website. Questions must be submitted to the Contract Specialist by e-mail to Angelamarie.Scott@va.gov or by fax to 412-954-4059 no later than August 11, 2009 so they can be addressed at the Pre-bid Conference. A Pre-bid Conference is anticipated (o/a) August 13, 2009 at 9:00 am Eastern Standard Time (EST) at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive Division, Building One, Ground floor in conference room AE108 located across from retail store. Although not mandatory, all bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-bid Conference. Further questions will be accepted by the Contract Specialist by e-mail or fax until close of business August 19, 2009 (six calendar days) after the Pre-bid Conference, and responses will be provided to all bidders on the Bidder's Mailing List. Questions received later than six (6) calendar days after the Pre-bid Conference may not be addressed in the interest of adhering to the scheduled bid opening date. Bid opening will be o/a September 8, 2009 at the VAPHS, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, Bldg. 4, 3rd floor, room 373E Bid Opening and Conference Room at 10:00 am EST. All responsible SDVOSB sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency if received timely. Prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov, shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at http://www.ccr.gov and be registered at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov prior to award of a contract.
