Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a request for proposal. There will not be a solicitation issued at this time. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), National Firearms and Tactical Training Unit (NFTTU) has a requirement to replace their ballistic laboratory chronograph and optical target plotter used to test ammunition. Ballistics Laboratory/Optical Target Plotter System requirements include: 1) The ability to measure the bullet velocity and plot bullet groups that are subsonic (slower than the speed of sound) and supersonic (faster than the speed of sound). 2) The capability to accurately plot bullet groups. 3) The capability to measure chamber pressure. 4) The capability to use the system indoors or outdoors. 5) The ability to wirelessly transmit data to the systems computer. 6) Sized to be readily moved by two people. 7) Software program that can be tailored to specific requirements of the NFTTU and allows customization of spread sheets and results data. Based upon the information received, the Government may request and schedule a demonstration of the system proposed. The demonstration will be held at the NFTTU facility or another site agreed to by both parties. All interested parties responding to this sources sought request shall submit the following information: 1) Company and product literature; 2) point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; 3) DUNS number; 4) other pertinent information for the Government's consideration; and 5) business size (large or small). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334519 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. The response date for this Sources Sought Notice is 31 July 2009 at 4:00 p.m. CST. This market research is for informational and planning purposes only. This sources sought synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract.
