- ***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Plasma-Therm LLC, in Saint Petersburg, FL for the purchase of a replacement iH80 pump.*** ***The pump is required as a direct replacement with the existing pump, which is part of NIST’s existing 790 RIE metal plasma etch chamber. The identical piece of equipment is required to ensure compatibility with the existing system. Sole source determination is based on the need for thispump to be identical to the existing equipment. Plasma-Therm LLC is the sole manufacturer and sole distributor of this equipment *** ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 6 weeks after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by July 30, 2009.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
