Description
OPERATOR SELECTION FOR TWO AUXILIARY GENERAL PURPOSE OCEANOGRAPHIC RESEARCH (AGOR) SHIPS (AGOR 27 AND AGOR 28) The Office of Naval Research (ONR) announces an OCEAN CLASS AGOR meeting opportunity for potential offerors on Monday, 27 July 2009 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at ONR. Potential offerors are requested to provide their name and phone number to Mr. Tim Schnoor by COB on Monday, 20 July 2009 via email to tim.schnoor@navy.mil to receive additional information regarding the meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and respond to questions regarding the upcoming competitive, merit-based selection of operators of two Ocean Class research ships, Auxiliary General Purpose Oceanographic Research (AGOR) 27 and AGOR 28. To be eligible for selection, an offeror must be a United States academic institution or formal consortium of U.S. institutions currently conducting graduate level research programs in the ocean sciences. In addition, offerors must either be a member of the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) or meet the requirements for, and apply for, full membership. Attendance at the meeting is not mandatory for submission of a proposal. The draft announcement can be viewed at http://www.onr.navy.mil/sci_tech/32/. Potential offerors are encouraged to provide questions and comments via email to tim.schnoor@navy.mil and susan.paolini@navy.mil no later than 20 July 09. Questions and responses related to the competitive requirement will be disseminated to potential offerors shortly after the conference via an amendment to this special notice and at http://www.onr.navy.mil/sci_tech/32/.
