- Description: For Informational Purposes Only. This action is Work Authorization No. RA-09-002 and is issued under M&O Contract number DE-AC52-06NA25396. This action is funded by Recovery Act dollars. The M&O Contractor DUNS number is 175252894. The description of the work involved under this Work Authorization is shown below: Required D&D activities include the following: (1) utility isolation verification, (2) hazardous materials and asbestos abatement, (3) removal of remaining internal process contaminated systems, (4) decontamination and immobilization, (5) demolition of above grade structures, (6) optional removal of foundations and sub-grade building components where required to support soil cleanup activities, (7) partial removal of below grade contaminated soil (8)removal of miscellaneous items outside of buildings within the work boundary, and (9) site restoration activities. D&D activities shall include waste management, transportation, and disposal to appropriate treatment and disposal facilities. Justification for Non-Fixed Price Type of Contract for WA* (added to description in FedBizOpps): This was awarded as a Cost-Reimbursement Type because of uncertainties in contract performance. Costs cannot be estimated with sufficient accuracy to use any type of fixed price contract. This is a collaboration between the Laboratories and a university for defense environmental cleanup. The work is described but not defined and is very complex in nature.
