- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid South Area, has a project entitled "Install a Metal Roof" at the USDA, ARS, National Soil Dynamics Laboratory, Auburn, AL location. The work includes but is not limited to: no demolition required of existing roof, provide and install 26 gauge commercial metal roofing for approximately 4,221 sq. ft., with approximately 16' 9" panel length, over existing fiberglass shingled roof, provide and install approximately 68 feet of gabled trim and approximately260 fascia trim. The period of performance is 60 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The magnitude of construction is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. This solicitation is SET-ASIDE for Total Small Business. The NAICS Code is 23816 with a size standard of $14 million. This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-32. Solicitation No. AG-4431-S-09-0013 is scheduled for release on August 3, 2009, interested contractors are to submit their requests for a bid package to: USDA, ARS, MSA, Procurement Office, P. O. Box 225, Stoneville, MS 38776, or fax a request to 662/686-5468 or by email to terry.krutz@ars.usda.gov. The request must include a street mailing address, telephone and fax numbers and email address if available to receive one copy of the solicitation, drawings and specifications. No calls will be accepted. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. CT. Any changes or additional information will be provided in the solicitation package. Bid will be due by 3:00 p.m. on September 3, 2009. A firm-fixed price contract will be awarded. All responsible Businesses may submit an offer which will be considered by the agency. Contractors are required to register or update their registration at the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) website at www.ccr.gov in order to receive a contract award under this solicitation, and register or update their registration at the Online Representation and Certification Application website at http://orca.bpn.gov.
