Description
This is a pre-solicitation notice for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision to provide Fiber Optic Parts and Supplies and deliver to Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. The materials needed to accomplish installation of fiber optic lighting for certain exhibits in the Main Historic House and adjacent bldgs. located at 7400 Grant Rd. St. Louis, Mo. 63123. There will be 3 independent zones all to be illuminated with ILMH-3-120 volt metal halide horizontal positioned illuminator that can be utilized in dry or damp locations, enclosed in steel housing that shall provide a minimum of 100 watt HQ1 fiber optic lamp for lumen output, 5200degreeK lamp color temperature with an average rated life of 6000 hours. Unit must include ballast, cooling fan, heat filter, common end mount for cable harness and plug-in cord set. The illuminator must be horizontal mount and the cables shall be glass fiber to prevent discolor over time with low attenuation [i.e. light loss over length] and not affected by the illuminator heat. Harness will consist of a common end- positioned at the focal point of the illuminator. The glass fibers of any single tail will be individually sheathed in a self-extinguishing protective cladding with the ends epoxies, ground and polished into end ferrules. Down lights will be FDL-12M, fully rotatable turning 20 degrees in all directions, lenses with optically ground glass, clear, and shall be lockable with the optional finish of white. The delivery time expected is less than 30 days. The NAICS code is 423610. The small business size standard is 100 employees. The estimated price range for this project is less than $25,000. This project is being solicited and awarded in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items. The solicitation with the attachment will be posted to the websites http://www.fedbizopps.gov and http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about 17 July 2009.
