- Description
- The work is at Ice Harbor Dam, located near Burbank, Washington in Walla Walla County. Work entails installing new anchor bolts for the upstream Navigation Lock Gate. The main features of this work are remove upstream gate, drill out existing anchors bolts, install new anchors bolts, sandblast, inspect, and repaint trunnion hub, reinstall pins with new thrust washers and keeper plates, and reinstall gate. The upstream Navigation Lock gate is 87 feet long, 25 feet high, 23 feet wide, and weighs 142,000 lbs. The contractor may need to orchestrate a four to five point critical lift with two or more cranes to move the gate with little maneuvering room, under diverse weather conditions, and with a high degree of control. The period of performance for the onsite work will be during the first two weeks of the annual navigation lock maintenance period which starts March 6, 2010. Solicitation No. W912EF-09-B-0013 will be posted to the FBO website on or about August 6, 2009. Bids will be opened no sooner than 30 calendar days after actual solicitation issuance date. The bid opening date will be contained in the solicitation and any solicitation amendments that may be issued.
