- RECOVERYThe purpose of this announcement is to provide notice that the National Park Service (NPS) contemplates releasing solicitation number N9512090116 on or about 2 August 2009 that will result in a contract to provide for repair of the several existing bridges within Olympic National Park, located in northwest Washington. Work shall consist of, but not be limited to, removal of soil from culvert throats, replacement or resetting of epoxy elastomeric bearing pads, removal of vegetative growth from concrete, placement of reflective markers, installation of guardrails, paving of bridge approaches, filling of voids under and behind abutments and end walls, sandblasting of concrete and metal components, excavation of streambed, and placement of riprap. Bridge types may include cast-in-place concrete multi-throat culvert, concrete box culvert, and steel Bailey. The full scope of the anticipated contract will be included in the solicitation. The period of performance is 40 days. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237310 and the annual size standard is $33.5 million. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and 1,000,000. The project is subject to the Davis Bacon Act and applicable Department of Labor wage rates. Payment and performance bonds are required. An organized site visit and pre-bid meeting will be scheduled for this project. The solicitation will be unrestricted and bids will be accepted from all responsive sources pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Subpart 19.10. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforms to the solicitation and is considered most advantageous to the government, technical factors and cost or price considered. The "best value concept" will be used for selecting the contractor.
