- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded a contract to Easat Antennas Ltd., Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England for the acquisition of an Easat model EA6501 antenna fitted with the Easat anti-icing modification which will allow the continued use of the radar system in severe cold weather environments. These items are critical to enhance the availability and reliability required in FAA ASDE-X surface radar systems. This is a one-time fixed-price contract, with a one-time option to buy additional antennas and associated hardware following technical approval to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. A market survey was conducted from July 28, 2008, through August 15, 2008. The results of this survey supported the determination to solicit and negotiate with only one firm. This announcement is for information purposes only. Further, an announcement of the FAA's intent to solicit only with Easat Antennas Ltd. was posted on the Contract Opportunities web site on November 21, 2008.
