- Description
- NASA Headquarters (HQ), Facilities Engineering and Real Property Division, plans toparticipate in the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Boot Camp for Design-BuildProfessional TM Program. DBIA training involves interactive learning strategies andmethodologies that may include case studies (actual and or fictitious), group problemsolving exercises, group roundtable discussions, and interactive discussion betweenpresenter(s) and participants.The courses focus on providing knowledge, comprehension,and application of design-build principles. As part of our participation, NASA willreceive training for 100 participants, exam prep course and exam. Therefore, NASA HQ intends to issue a Sole Source Procurement to the Design-BuildInstitute of America to sponsor 100 participates for the Design-Build Professional TMProgram.This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP).The authority is only one responsible source 10U.S.C.2304(c)(1).The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing, by FAX or E-Mail, to the identified point of contact not later than1:00 p.m. local time on July 17, 2009.Such capabilities/ qualifications will beevaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete thisproposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
