- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acqusition Circular 2005-34. This acquisition is unrestricted. The applicable NAICS code is 332992. The applicable Size Industry Code is 3482 and 1,000 employees. Date of Delivery: Please provide earliest available time without extra fees to expedite delivery. FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commerical applies to this acquisition The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: Price only. Ammunition Packaging Requirements: Inner Container - Pack ammunition in two M2A1 Metal Containers, NSN 8140-00-960-1699. Outer Container - Pack per box two M2A1 Metal Containers, NSN 8140-00-960-1699 in a standard military wire bound crate. Container Marking Requirements: Outer Container Marking: NSN or Manufacture Part Number (to I nclude DODIC) nomenclature (to include type/NATO design mark, caliber, model), quantity, lot number, year of manufacture (only if the new lot numbering system is not used) NATO symbol (if applicable), unti of pack, weight, and DOT markings. Inner Container Marking: Nomenclature (to include type/NATO design mark, caliber, and model) and lot number. The year and letters stamped on the head of each cartrige case pertain only to the manufacture of the cartridge case and may or may not correspond to year of assembly of cartridge. Assign Manufacture 13 Digit Lot Number to Ammunitions as follows: a. Ammunition Manufacturer's identification sysmbol (3-characters). If a two-character manufacturer's identification code is used, the remaining position will be filled with a dash. b. Next - A two-digit numeric code identifying the year of production. c. Next - A single alpha code signifying month of production. Example: A-January, B-February, C-March, D-April, etc. d. Next - Lot inter fix number e. Hypen (may be filled with a lot identifier code) f. Lot sequence number g. Non Applicable Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) and assigned rating - This contract is not a rated order under DPAS (15 CFR 1700) Offers are due NLT 4:30 pm 22 July 2009 Eastern Daylight Time.
