- Amendment 1 The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to contract for services related to the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance functions of the day-to-day operations of the Metro West Complex (comprised of North, South and Tower buildings), located at 300 and 400 N. Greene Street in Downtown Baltimore, Maryland. This includes the operation of all air-conditioning and heating equipment, daily operational tours and watches, operation of the Building Automation System (which has fire, life safety, security, as well as heating/ventilating/air conditioning), service calls, and preventive maintenance. The contractor shall furnish all management, supervision, labor, supplies, materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the required services. SSA’s Metro West Complex encompasses a total of 1.3 million square feet, of which 750,000 square feet are occupied. This is a 100% set-aside for SBA certified HUBZone small business concerns. Offers from other than SBA certified HUBZone small business concerns shall not be considered. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this requirement is 238220. The size standard for this NAICS code is $14 million. SSA anticipates awarding one firm-fixed-price contract for this effort. The period of performance will be for one (1) year with three (3) one-year option periods, if exercised. The performance period for this effort is expected to begin on or about September 30, 2009. The services will be procured utilizing the procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 – Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 15 - Contracting by Negotiation. The RFP is issued under solicitation number SSA-RFP-09-1066. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. The solicitation and any related documents for this procurement are available to interested parties through electronic media for downloading via the internet at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
