- Description
- Each utility vehicle shall have a gas powered engine, 4-cycle with electronic fuel injection. The minimum horse power for the engine is 23 hp. The minimum size fuel tank will be 5 gal. Ignition shall be solid state 12 volt. It shall have a liquid cooling system. Travel speed shall be capable of 25 mph forward and 15 mph reverse. In each vehicle the transmission shall be a continuously variable transmission with high and low range, forward, neutral and reverse. The utility vehicle shall be capable of a 4-wheel drive system. Brakes shall be front/rear. The park brake shall be hand operated. The front suspension shall be independent with MacPherson strut. The rear suspension shall be independent with coil over shock. Steering shall be rack and pinion. This utility vehicle will be utilized during flood events along the Mississippi River. It shall be capable of traversing rough terrain and going through flood waters. The ground clearance shall be at least 10-inches. The utility vehicle shall come with a standard canopy/rollover protection and shall be factory installed. A windshield shall be included. There shall be a top covering for the roll cage. Safety features shall include 3-point seat belts and grab handles for passengers. A bumper shall be included. The cargo box shall be constructed of steel and shall have a cargo box bed load capacity of at least 800 lbs. The tailgate shall be removable. The dump bed shall have a factory installed power lift. Towing capacity shall be at least 1,200 lbs. Payload Capacity shall be at least 1,300 lbs. The tires shall be 12-inch all terrain tires. The vehicle shall come equipped with 2 headlights. The color of the vehicle shall be a standard manufacturer color and shall be determined after the contract award. The color shall not be camouflaged.
