- Description
- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for CUSTOM TUNABLE PULSED UV LASER.The laser system is a custom-built tunable pulsed ultraviolet laser. The laser will beused to develop an instrument for the detection of formaldehyde. This is a high powertunable fiber laser that provides narrow linewidth (300MHz) at 300 kHz pulse repetitionrate of 30ns pulses. The power output is &gt;40mW. NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from NovaWave pursuant to FAR 13.106 for theacquisition of supplies or services determine to be reasonably from one source..The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities statement to perform the effortin writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00 p.m. local time on July30, 2009. Such statements will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
