- ********SEND ALL INFORMATION AND CORRESPONDENCE INCLUDING QUOTES AND TECHNICALQUESTIONS IN WRITING TO TERESA MUELLER AT teresa.a.mueller@nasa.gov;FAX:256-544-6560**************NASA/MSFC has a requirement for IM7-G/8552-1 Carbon/Epoxy Prepreg Material for thefabrication of development panels and test coupons. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Hexcel Corporation on a sole source basis.Hexcel Corporation is the manufacturer and only supplier of IM7-G/8552-1 Compositeunidirectional tape prepreg which has been chosen as the composite prepreg material ofchoice for use in fabrication of the ARES I Interstage by the Upper Stage InterstageIntegrated Product Team. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Teresa Mueller at teresa.a.mueller@nasa.gov or Fax: 256-544-5165 nolater than 4:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Such capabilities/qualificationswill be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to competethis proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
