- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to identify potential small business concerns for determining whether to set aside the acquisition for HUBZone concerns, 8(a) concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB) or for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561612 (Security Guards and Patrol Services) with a size standard of $18.5 million. The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, qualified guard force personnel, materials, equipment, and transportation necessary to provide Armed Guard Services at the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) eight-story Birmingham Center located at 1200 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr. Boulevard, Birmingham, Alabama, 35285, a Level 4 Federal Government Facility. Security clearances will be required in the performance of this work. The facility has 19 posts, three of which the contractor must provide services 24 hours a day inclusive of holidays and weekends. There are three separate employee/public building entrance locations with a separate warehouse loading dock entry point for deliveries only. The core facility is not open to the general public. A separate portion of the building is dedicated to a childcare facility. A portion of the facility is open to the general public. A separate five level concrete/steel parking deck to accommodate 1800 vehicles is located on the west side of the property. Approximately 2,100 SSA and contractor personnel occupy the building. SSA anticipates awarding a long term (base year and subsequent option years), firm fixed price, commercial services contract. Contract award is anticipated by November 2009. Multiple awards are not applicable. Small business concerns responding to this sources sought notice must: 1.Indicate your company's applicable small business status category(ies) based on the size standard above and applicable regulations related to HUBZone, 8(a), and SDVOSB status. 2.Provide a capability statement inclusive of experience in the form of an outline of previous projects for specific relevant work completed or currently being performed of equivalent magnitude. Include contract numbers, description of work inclusive of electronic security system, points of contact with email addresses and phone numbers; and any other pertinent information that would enable the government to assess your company's capabilities. The government reserves the right to set this acquisition aside for HUBZone concerns, 8(a) concerns, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns (SDVOSB) or for Small Business based on the responses it receives. It is imperative that firms respond with the required information for capabilities to be accurately evaluated. Capability statement responses should be limited to five (5) pages.
