- THIS ACQUISITION IS NOW UNRESTRICTED. ------------------------------------------------------------- The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-046W-S-09-0032 on or about June 3, 2009, for the Star Stewardship project. If the solicitation is released, it will be released through this FedBizOpps website, and prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website from time to time on or after June 3, 2009, to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The Star Fuels Reduction Project is located on the Barlow Ranger District of the Mt. Hood National Forest within Ramsey Creek drainage to the south and Eightmile Creek drainage to the North. Restoration objectives for the project area are summarized as follows: (1) Improve Forest Health – Provide growing space for healthy trees and reduce fuel loadings, (2) Provide mechanical fuel treatments and preparatory work to manage the effects of the return of fire as a disturbance mechanism, (3) Increase and Improve Late/Old Forest Structure – Provide maintenance of designated Old Growth Areas and forest components which trend to historic vegetation and habitat conditions (snags, down wood, cover, etc.), (4) Utilize Timber Resources – Provide wood resource to forest product industry, and (5) Improve Road Management – Provide maintenance to meet project area transportation plan and resource needs. The intent of this contract is to provide for the complete project described in the contract. Unless otherwise provided, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies and perform all work required to complete the project in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. ---------------------------------------------------------- NAICS CODE CHANGE FROM 115310 to 113310 ----------------------------------------------------------- AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION.
