- The solicitation for this project will be posted to Fed Biz Ops on or about July 28, 2009 with proposals due on August 28, 2009. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all labor, tools, material, supervision and equipment necessary to perform chip seal. The project consists of applying a bituminous chip seal to a 7.17-mile segment of Forest Road 64, which is a double lane road with an existing 24-foot wide asphalt paved surface. Contingent upon funding resources and contract pricing, option items are included to provide flexibility to apply a secondary treatment. The contractor shall be responsible for adequately preparing the road surface prior to applications and providing aggregate. The aggregate shall be hauled by the contractor in vehicles that do not exceed Washington State Department of Transportation legal load limits. Bid quarantee, performance bond and payment bond are required. The project location is approximately 14 miles south of Dayton, Washington, on the route to Ski Bluewood. From Main Street (U.S. Highway 12) in Dayton, turn south onto 4th Street and continue through town until 4th Street becomes the North Touchet Road at the city limits. Proceed along this route, following the signs to Ski Bluewood, until the project (Road 64) is reached. The estimated cost for this project is between $100,000 and $500,000.
