- SCOPEThe Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has an ongoing program to furnish orthotic appliances and related services to those veterans that require them and are eligible for assistance. It is VAs intention to solicit proposals and award multiple contracts on a competitive basis to preferred providers within a VA Medical Centers (VAMC) jurisdiction under the authority of Title 38 U.S.C. Section 8123. Orthotic appliances include custom made/custom fit braces, corset/belts, elastic hose, arch supports, shoe inlays, molded shoes, and orthotic shoes. All contract employees providing services at the EVAMC are required to comply with the facilities immunization policy. As such, contract employees must submit proof of health care requirements per Attachment A. No contract employee will be authorized to commence work until all health care requirements are met and cleared by the VA Employee Health. It is anticipated that the complete Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued on 07/27/2009.
