- The US Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity proposes to award to Vicon Motion Systems, Inc, Los Angeles, CA, on a sole source basis, for the purchase of eight optical tracking camera systems that utilizes passive retro-reflective markers. It captures at 4-megapizel resolution and atleast 370 frames per second to accurately capture abrupt motions. This system is already being used in ongoing study with the Medical College of Wisconsin and the Virginia Tech Center for Injury Biomechanics. Competing this requirement and awarding to any other source would result in substantial delays and disruption of a study already in place and would also increase the overall cost to the Government. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition procedures in accordance with FAR 6.302.1. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. After the publication of this announcement for fifteen (15) days, solicitation W81XWH-09-T-0444 will be posted for five (days).
