- The US Army Corps of Engineers intends to negotiate and award, on a sole source basis, a modification to extend the performance period on contract W912ER-04-D-0004, Task Order 0021, with Fluor Intercontinental, Inc., Greenville, South Carolina. This action is pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement.' This action is required to extend operations and maintenance services for the Client Liaison Element (CLE) in Iraq for three months, with a potential three-month additional extension, due to the cancellation of the anticipated Multiple Award Task Order Contract intended to re-compete this service requirement. The current period of performance ends 13 March 2009. Award to any source other than Fluor Intercontinental, Inc would result in unacceptable delays and substantial cost that are considered to be well beyond any cost savings that might be achieved through competition. This action will be awarded via a modification to the existing task order. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, this action is directed towards Fluor Intercontinental, Inc. This notice of intent/synopsis is being issued for information purposes only and it is not a request for competitive proposals. Solicitation documents are not available. All responses should be directed to Diane R. Bublak at diane.r.bublak@usace.army.mil and must be received within fifteen (15) days from publication of this synopsis. No telephone inquires will be accepted.
