- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Division of Laboratory Science (DLS) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order, in accordance with FAR Part 12, using simplified acquisition procedures, to Eksigent Technologies, 5875 Arnold Road, Dublin, CA 94568. Eksigent Technologies is the only source that manufactures and distributes the capillary-flow HPLC instruments that are capable of running microliter volumes of solvents unlike other competing instrumentation that splits buffer flows resulting in large hazardous waste accumulation. Eksigent Technologies is the only organization that has the compatible chip system instrument to meet all of the requirements including cost and time constraints. The HPLC instrument and chip system instrument is the only commercially available instruments that performs both the complete capillary-flow and is campatible with the Eksigent NanoLC-ultra system. CDC anticipates soliciting and awarding with only one source under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) permitting other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. Eksigent Technologies is the only source available to provide a product that meets mission critical requirements. No Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent, Interested organizations may submit their capabilities/qualifications to provide the instruments, in writing to Richard Jenkins, via email at RJenkins@cdc.gov with the reference number (2009-70931-72027) referenced in the subject line, NO Later Than July 25, 2009, 12:00 PM, Eastern Time.
