- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER W52H0909R0299. NA Description: This solicitation is restricted to the three firms in the Small Arms Industrial Base: Colt Defense, FN Manufacturing, LLC, and General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products. Offer from concerns other than the above are not solicitated. Solicitation will result in the award of a five (5) year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract. The item to procure is a BARREL ASSEMBLY, SHORT (NSN: 1005-01-475-4296), P/N 12556953, used on M249 MG. The assembly consists of the following major parts: barrel sub-assembly, short P/N 13022949, base, front sight P/N 9348441, flash hider P/N 13022948, post, front sight P/N 9348442, gas block P/N 12011982, and stem, handle P/N 12557008. The barrel is made from steel, low alloy, bar, (SPECIAL). Suggested sources of supply on drawing 11825998 barrel tube require a finish of chrome plating. Requirements are 14,000 each (guaranteed), M249 Machine Gun Short Barrel. FOB is Destination. These Machine Gun Short Barrels are for use on the M249 SAW. Estimate issue date is 27 July 2009. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the internet. Before a TDP package can be provided, a Use and Non-disclosure Agreement must be completed and returned to TACOM LCMC (RI), Attn: CCTA-AR-SA / Mr. Al Hutson, Rock Island, IL 61299-7630 or completed form may be faxed to Mr. Al Hutson at (309) 782-0241 or emailed to allan.hutson@us.army.mil. A copy of the agreement will be included as an attachment to the solicitation and it will not be available until the solicitation is issued. A TDP will be provided after the Use and Non-disclosure Agreement has been executed. A license agreement between FN Herstal and the US Government requires the items procured to be manufactured exclusively in the US and Canada. The successful offeror under this solicitation agrees to manufacture the items being procured under this contract, exclusively in the US and Canada. This solicitation, as well as any amendments thereto will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore hard copies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above Internet address in order to obtain any amendments, which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of it.
