- Description
- The work includes furnishing labor, materials and equipment necessary to repair and renovate building 283. The work includes providing renovated interior spaces for the Depot Library, Depot Visitor's Center, Depot Public Affairs Office (PAO), and three shops associated with the visitor's function; a book store, a coffee bar, and a gift shop. Work also includes demolishing existing obsolete systems and interior finishes and partitions; demolishing and abating asbestos containing and lead containing materials; providing code compliant egress stairs from upper floors to meet life safety codes; and providing all new interior finishes. The majority of the building, the library space, the PAO space and the Visitor's center will be renovated using an open floor plan for flexible future usage. Office areas in the PAO will be cubicle layouts constructed from systems office furniture. Project will provide demolition of hazardous materials associated with the existing building materials. Project will also provide new electrical system, new HVAC system, new lighting, new telephone and data communications systems; renovate the bathroom areas to provide code required fixture counts to accommodate the large visitor crowds during recruit graduations; and provide new handicapped access ramps to provide proper building access. Work is located at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. This project is 100% HUBZONE set-aside.
