- Unit 164 Map Units 166 & 168 Map Unit 92 Map Vicinity Map Detailed Information Chart Solicitation Package The scope of this service contract is to furnish all labor, supervision, tools, equipment, transportation, and incidentals, except those designated as Government furnished, necessary to fall, limb, skid and deck prescribed trees in accordance with contract specifications. Purpose of the project is to reduce existing and future fuel loads in the Red Pines project area in order to reduce the risk of high severity fires in an area important for public safety, cultural, and environmental values. No trees will be removed from the project site and no temporary roads shall be constructed. Work shall also include lopping and scattering limbs throughout the units to specification and scarifying, recontouring and scattering slash over skid trails. Approximately 69 acres are planned for treatment; total amount of work awarded will be dependent on available funding. Work is located approximately 20 miles from Elk City, ID in the vicinity of the old Red River Ranger District compound. Work is anticipated to commence approximately August 15, 2009 and be completed by November 31, 2009. A pre-bid tour will be held on July 23, 2009. Solicitation was issued on 7/10/09.
