Description
NOUN: Kitting Trailer QTY: 1 EA Prototype and 32 EA Production Units DESCRIPTION: The kitting trailer will have 2 shelf/levels with each shelf/level holding either a 5'x10' and/or 2-5'x5' pallets and support a maximum total weight capacity of 8000lbs. Shall have a foot print accounting for variation in the size of each pallet sitting on the trailer. Be transportable on existing roads/ramp/hangar transitions (to and from hangar floors) with and without weight. Possess towing features, alone and in tandem. Each trailer and shelf systems shall have the option /ability to be locked and secured for travel and accommodating wind shear, road conditions, protection from the elements and change in momentum. The trailer and shelves shall be resistant to the current wash/strip process. Shall be manufactured or procured to be repetitively removed, stored, and installed on the designed trailer system by fork truck and or crane. Shelves shall be spaced to accommodate the two levels of pallets. The bottom level will accommodate a 14 inch (containing parts) pallet. Posses a method (i.e. caster system) that can be installed/removed from (manual/personnel movement) while not on the trailer system. Allow for variance in pallet dimensions of 5 inches both in length and width. REQURED DELIVERY DATE: 1 EA Prototype - 8 weeks After Receipt of Order (ARO) and 32 EA Production Units - 36 weeks After approval of Prototype ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE: 25 SEPT 09 This requirement is a TOTAL HUBZONE SET-ASIDE. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or Potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the Program Manager or Contracting Officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
